Look Out for Flying Time!

How could it go so quickly?

On this very day,

I became the mother of what would become one of the world's most inquisitive, talented, funny and  handsome guy!

Michael Ambrose B. III plopped into the world weighing 9 pounds 14 ounces and standing 24 inches long which entered him into the tallest baby ever born in that small town hospital!

I would probably say it was easy-peasy but looking back...

23 hours of labor

this kid was born with the mouth of a sailor

he performed dare devil stunts from day 3

and although he only broke one bone, he had enough stitches to make a quilt.

We waited patiently for him to get married...

But he was picky, it took him a while to find the perfect one!

But he did!

Happy birthday, Michael!

Mama loves you.

Michael and his first girlfriend, Marcy.

The fab four on Michael's wedding day

At Tony's wedding...

With Catherine

And a wicked sense of humor.  I fell off my bike in the middle of the street.
Ashley ran and took a picture of me and sent it to everyone.
Thanksgiving day, Michael wore his custom t-shirt!

Yes, that's Andy photobombing!

~sigh~
Mom life!
(almost as much fun as grandma life)

That Was Easter?

Not one smidgen of chocolate...
Not one hard boiled egg...
Not one person walking in our door.

Seriously, that was Easter?

I was hesitant to get out of bed.

I was afraid that once I celebrated the resurrection of Christ,
it would be all down hill.

Then my phone rang.

It was my oldest son, Michael.
We had a wonderful, long talk.

I talked to Andy.
He and Locklan spent the night at camp,
they came  home early that morning.

Mindy and Tony announced they were dropping off our Easter dinner...

We had ham AND turkey, scalloped potatoes, gravy, asparagus
AND we got to see Henry, sitting in his car seat!

Later we got to see this...

Isn't he adorable?

Andy and Ashley took the kids on a bike ride...

It was such a beautiful day and they were able to observe social distancing!

Yesterday evening, I called Andy to tell him I was on my way
to do a
driveway drop off of the kids Easter cards.

Andy and Ashley let the kids out in the yard so I could see them

I got to facetime Henry,

Talk to my mom for nearly an hour,

Watch a few Brit-coms

and that was Easter

without a smidgen of chocolate!

Stay inside, stay healthy, stay safe!

What Happened in March?

Soooo, what DID happen in March?

Actually, not much...

The highlight of the month was Michael's birthday.

He turned 50.

How does it happen?  My kids are now older than I am!

Locklan got out his roller skates...
Uncle Tony gave him a few pointers...
While wearing his roller blades!

Andy was working on some home repairs while Locklan was in pre-school...

Teagan went along for the ride!

I decided to jump start my spring preparations...

I think we all experienced a little hockey fever...

Tony signed up for another session of roller hockey,
playing with a few of his high-school team mates!

Andy took the kids to the Dek Hockey rink.
He said Locklan was more interested in the bleachers...

Teagan, on the other hand...

Teagan wasn't walking yet, but she was hell bent of wearing Locklan's roller skates!

Our new sectional came.  It kept Locklan busy for hours, rearranging the sections!

Henry turned 4 months old...

One Friday, Locklan decided he needed to watch a movie with Henry...

Of course, there was a lot of cousin love going on...

And we finally found a use for that bench in the family room...

A staging area for car seats!

All in all, it was a fairly quiet month, but fun to remember!

Thinking Back

I think it's a well known fact,

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
I love thinking about Christmas...
Thinking about Christmas...
Planning for Christmas...

And I love looking at pictures of my family at Christmas...

So bear with me while I share a few of my favorites...

Weren't Michael and Vicky cute?
No date on this, I'm thinking about 1973
Hard to believe, Christmas 1988.
I set this up and took the photo while Mark was at work.
Hard to believe, we survived!

Same year, Tony was a little uninspired...

The year Michael got JR a coon skin cap!

I'm sure I have more...

~sigh~

I love Christmas!

Wedding day, part one!

Okay, I know you've been waiting forever for the wedding photos.

Me too, but I think I have finally gathered enough photos to tell the beautiful, sweet story...

We were busy!

Tony worked a half day.  I think he went into the office just to keep his brain occupied.

Mindy and her mom did girly things...

I did all those things the mother-of-the-groom did:

Manicure, hair washed and styled by Aimee, picked up my dress and shaved my legs...

Finally it was time to get dressed and head over to the church.

I left Mr K and my coat at home and headed out, thinking Mr K would ride with Andy and Ashley and bring my coat.

I got to the church...

Wendy, the wedding coordinator, sent me back to the room where Mindy was getting ready...
She was already dressed and ready to go!

Alivia, her niece, was the flower girl...

They are besties!

Mindy seemed calm, the rest of us?  Maybe not so much...

But her mom looked gorgeous!

They are so close...more besties!

I posed with Mindy for a few...

And then...

People were starting to come in...

And then Wendy sent me back to the pastor's office where Tony was getting ready...
Good thing!  He needed his mom, he had a problem...

He couldn't get his tie right.  When the front was long enough, the back was too long.

"Ma!  What should I do?"

"Hmmmmm...let me see..."

Suddenly, the door opened...in came Andy, Ashley and Locklan...

Didn't he look sweet?

Tony had a bright idea...
I couldn't believe it!

We fixed it!

Yep!  That tie didn't hang down too far anymore!

I got him dressed...

And I posed with my handsome sons!

And suddenly, it was time to get the show started...

You have to come back to see the ceremony...

I promise, it will be worth it!

I get all choked up just typing about it!
