Share!

Periodically, I replace the dog's beds...

A few weeks ago, I mentioned to Mr K that it was time...

And then I just plain forgot!

I was wandering through Ross Dress for Less

(did I ever mention that I DO NOT LIKE that store?)

They did have one bed that was the right size, so I brought it home.

Usually, in the dead of winter, they much prefer blankets so they can snuggle
but they seemed to like the new bed.

They took turns sleeping on it

for the most part...

Those darn dogs!

The Day After Christmas

Ahhhhhhhhhh
or should I say...
grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I walked into my living room and saw this:

remember the tree fiasco that we thought was fixed?

I think not...

Then I realized that my tree skirt was missing...

Didn't take long to find it?

What does this mean?
What is the universe (and the dogs) trying to tell me?

I know, I once left my tree up in the corner until...
Let's just  say it was before Easter when I took it down...

~sigh~

Over Full

Yesterday started out rough...

I took the wrong check book to the bank...

Took the wrong amount of cash out...

Burned the ham...

Had presents to wrap...

Yelled at Ron...

Stressed that my patio was messy...

Had family coming at 5 for a dinner that was burned...

Ron went out and bought another ham...

I put it in the oven and sent him to pick up my  mom, an hour away...

Andy  and Ashley and kids got here early, I wasn't dressed!

Then...it was Christmas eve...

Ashley carved the ham while I took a bath...

The kids entertained us...

Tony and Mindy came...

Vicky and Jamie came...

Michael and Catherine came later when Michael got off work...

We laughed and ate, we ate and laughed...

The kids opened gifts and played...

~sigh~

I love family time, and it's no secret that I love Christmas...

Last night just before I fell asleep, as I was watching It's a Wonderful Life for the 845 time,
 I got this text...

~double sigh~

It's Christmas Adam!

I have a long time friend who raised four kids of her own...

And adopted four more!

When they grew up, one of them coined the phrase Christmas Adam...

Cause everyone know that Adam came before Eve!

Like an ear  worm, it sticks in my ear...

Every year I not only celebrate, but I wish Happy Christmas Adam to everyone in my path...

And explain it to all...

So...

Happy Christmas Adam to all out there!

I'm busy again today but want to share these images with you...

And this...the ghost of Christmas past...

Guess I have to explain...

We joke that Tony has more outlets on the outside of his house than he does inside...

I have always wanted to plug something into one of the outlets as a prank...

Last night while they were inside watching TV,

I drove down there with not only a dog dressed as Santa, but my traditional 10 foot ghost...

They had no clue until the guy across the street called them and since the ghost was around the corner of the house, and they looked out the front door, they didn't even know about the ghost!

Family tradition...

Mark was always pulling pranks on the neighbors!

I just got a Christmas card yesterday from an old friend who reminded me of the time Mark told her kids that Rudolph threw up on their front porch...that was 25 years ago.

I'm off to finish my chores...

Happy Christmas Adam!

The Most Busiest Time of the Year!

No time to chat today...

The planning, cleaning, decorating and shopping is all under control...

but Mom has a routine doctor appointment.

Routine for her, that is.

That means  I'll drive an hour to pick  her up...

Half hour to get to the doctor's office...

Half hour there...

Lunch...

Half hour back to Mom's...

An hour home...

There goes my day!

Until I get back, I thought I'd share this photo that came up on my
Facebook feed yesterday.

Locklan in 2015!

~sigh~

They grow up so fast!

Thinking Back

I think it's a well known fact,

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
I love thinking about Christmas...
Thinking about Christmas...
Planning for Christmas...

And I love looking at pictures of my family at Christmas...

So bear with me while I share a few of my favorites...

Weren't Michael and Vicky cute?
No date on this, I'm thinking about 1973
Hard to believe, Christmas 1988.
I set this up and took the photo while Mark was at work.
Hard to believe, we survived!

Same year, Tony was a little uninspired...

The year Michael got JR a coon skin cap!

I'm sure I have more...

~sigh~

I love Christmas!

I'll Buy My Own

Came across this on Facebook...

I don't know if I ever shared it or not, but I insisted my boys
let me pretend that they weren't pretending to believe in Santa until they were...

Probably in junior high!

Seriously!

Well maybe not junior high...

But a long time!

We had a  Christmas Eve routine, Mark would read them a Christmas Story and then
as soon as I heard them all snoring, I would go back downstairs and do my
Santa Magic.

Santa, the elves and occasionally the reindeer would get into mischief
of some kind, write a letter to the kids and drop off presents.

One year Santa snuck into the bedrooms and sprinkled sleepy dust on everyone.
Mark had a tough time forgiving me for the glitter that lingered for months!

One year the boys took so long to fall asleep that the reindeer got into a food fight on the front porch...
Yes, I threw grated carrots all over the front porch...

I still wonder what the passing car driver thought as I put on Mark's size 13 boots and made footprints in the new snow on the porch roof!

The letters were always the last thing I did (at 3AM) before heading to bed...

Just a recap of the year...a reminder to keep their rooms tidy...

Now there are grand kids.
I can sleep on Christmas Eve,
and let my kids work Santa Magic...

I got off easy, now there is Elf on the Shelf...
I only had to do one night...

As far as believing...
Even though I know that Jesus is the reason for the season...

I'll still buy my own underwear

Come meet Teagan

With all the excitement about Henry, the news about Teagan Rae,
who came during my blogging break, got lost.

Not for long!

Let me tell you about Teagan.

She was due on April 22, they scheduled induction for April 23.

This sweet family of three was about to become a family of four!

About 5AM on April 21, Ashley called.  Her water broke.

The hospital was almost an hour away...

Locklan and I snuggled while we waited..
.

and waited...

Finally!

Miss Teagan Rae!

She was beautiful from the start!

Tony, Mindy and I had the honor of taking Locklan down to meet her for the first time...

He was thrilled!  The first words out of his mouth were, "Oh, she's so cute!"

Bam!  Family of four!

Yes, she was a little opinionated...

And Locklan was smitten!

She loved her brother, that's for sure!

But not everyone!!!

She grew so fast...

And she really loves her big brother...

And mom...

And she's clearly daddy's girl!

 She's our  little princess!

~sigh~

Forgot to add this one in...

Yes, she fell asleep while she was eating!

She puts the grand in granddaughter!

When you are 3 and a half...

When you are three and a half, decorating the tree is great fun,
especially since you take great pride in being a helper...

When you are old and gray and love your grandson with all your heart,

This is how your tree looks!

~sigh~

I love it!

He's amazing...

On Sunday, Henry turned  one month old...

The next day, his Uncle Jamie's birthday, was his official due date.

You've come a long way, baby!

~sigh~
Isn't he amazing?

Here I Sit...

Remember the days of pay toilets?

I'm so old,  I do!
I remember going to WT Grant and waiting for someone to come out of the rest room and holding the door open to save me 10¢!

I remember reciting that old rhyme,

Here I sit, broken hearted,
Paid a dime to poop and only farted!

That's how I feel this morning.

No!  I didn't have to pay to poop.

Much worse than that!

Remember this photo of my Christmas tree last year?

It was a brand new tree!  I hate putting lights on my trees, but I love trees with lots of lights.

I searched and searched and paid a fortune for this wonderful, pre-lit tree.

I carefully put the tree away, making sure that all the connections were protected.

Yesterday, Andy came and braved those attic stairs and brought the tree(s) down.

As Alexia played cheerful Christmas music, I assembled the tree...

I plugged it in...

Crap!
Here I sit, broken hearted...

~sigh~

Here's What I learned...

If you have nothing to do for three or four hours but this...

Just you, a baby and your cell phone...

You might get lucky and get this...

If you keep tickling his lips!

~sigh~

I'm so blessed!

Let's Celebrate!

Wednesday, Mr. K and I celebrated our fifth anniversary!

(this photo was taken last year on our anniversary and Tony & Mindy's honeymoon)

Well, technically, we didn't really celebrate...

We acknowledged our anniversary and made plans to celebrate the next day
(Which was yesterday)

Since we do what we like when we want,
we decided that since there were cruises we wanted to take...
concerts we wanted to see...
food we wanted to eat...
We'd just do something simple.

We decided to go to dinner at one of our local restaurants that we really enjoy
and then hit the cinema to see Bohemian Rhapsody

(I have always been a huge Queen fan)

Dinner was so nice, we had a corner table, the server was personable...
The timing was right, the show started at 7:05 (which is dangerously close to my 8:00 crash and burn time).

We got to the theater at 6:55...
Mr. K hit up the rest room while I inhaled the scent of popping popcorn...

We went to purchase the tickets...
I looked at Mr. K to see him frisking himself...
Giving himself a real pat down...
No wallet!

We headed back to the restaurant where they had his wallet waiting for him...

By this time, it was too late to see the movie!

~sigh~

Maybe tonight!

Splish Splash

Just lounging around last night when what to my wondering phone should appear...

Henry's first tub bath!

I don't think he thought it was a great idea...

But apparently Mom and Dad thought it was a Kodak moment...

And so he posed...

And it was soon lights out!

~sigh~

It's such hard work being an adorable baby boy!

Republican Hair and Living Room Picnic

This is how I woke up today...

Good grief, I have Trump Hair again!

Guess I'd better call for a hair appointment!

On a brighter note, yesterday Teagan and Locklan came to spend the afternoon
while Mommy and Daddy worked...

Before he left, Andy put Teagan in a portable high chair and sat her on the dining room table.

She loved it!

After he had his lunch, Locklan decided to open his restaurant again.
He loves to play restaurant, complete with a cash register and play money...

When Teagan got into his play food, he decided she could be a restaurant worker...

Personally, I would have fired her, but Locklan has incredible patience with her.

Later, we sat on the living room floor...

And we had a picnic!

Teagan doesn't crawl yet...

But she scoots backwards.

Usually under the furniture!

~SIGH~

I loved every minute of it...

AND was in bed by 8:00

I love being a grandma!
