Noelle's Birthday!

It was Noelle's 24th birthday...

Tony and Noelle started celebrating a day early with dinner and a horse drawn carriage ride, remember?
Ron and I met them, Noelle's mother and grandmother for dinner and drinks at a Mexican restaurant (I can't remember the name)...

Noelle, and her mom (above).  Wouldn't you think they were sisters???

Becky (the mom), Noelle and Dolores, Noelle's grandma.

While we were waiting, we ordered drinks. We didn't know how large a large Peach Margarita was...
We could have bathed a baby in it!

Yum, what a tasty birthday treat.  No one was able to finish the whole drink, though!

Tony, who does not adhere to my 'no blue food' rule, ordered something blue?

Grandma was a good sport, posing with our drinks!

Becky asked the waiters to sing Happy Birthday to Noelle...

They plopped a sombrero on her head, put a dessert in front of her and sang...

and then smashed her in the face with whipped cream!

She said it was tasty, but it took a minute to get it out of her nose!?!

Afterwards, we went to Noelle's apartment for Cake and coffee!

Tony bought her a package of mustaches...

Nothing like a birthday girl sporting a 'stache!

I think it was a special time for everyone...and Noelle said it was an awesome birthday!

Happy 24th Noelle!

Now I'm outta here, gotta get ready for tonight!
Hope I can stay awake until midnight.
What are your plans?

Have a happy and safe New Year!
Love,
Jan

Christmas Eve!

Christmas eve  started with dinner and family time at my mom's...as usual!

with food...food!  more food,
Of course, the traditional ham...
this year we had ham sandwiches!

And a little wine...

And a few traditional decorations
(the ones my mom can't reach)!

It was wonderful to have family together...
Like Andy and Ashley....

Look at Ashley's lap!  A fleece Penguins blanket!
That's what I was working on...
One for each member of my family,
one for my brother and one for
Lachlan, my Grandson, due in February!

And of course, my mom!

Ron and Vicky
(doing Yoga or telling about the one that got away?)

Catherine, my brother, Dan,  and Aunt Helen

We can't forget Tony and Noelle.
There's Jamie in the background!

My niece, Katlyn was there...
isn't she pretty?

Michael and Vicky sword fighting with the traditional Pepperoni sticks.
All the guys get one every year...

And of course, there were presents!

Those aren't bags of trash, they are the fleece blankets...
I am a terrible wrapper, so it just seemed like the best way to hide them!

This year, we bought my mother a keyboard.  She got rid of her organ and really missed playing...

It came with a stand that was supposed to look like the picture on the box...

There were no instructions.  They decided to wing it and put it together.

They tried...

 And they tried...

And tried...

And tried...

And Mom got tired of waiting and put it on the dining room table...

I'm happy to say that they did get it together (thanks to Catherine) but by then, the batteries in my camera died.  You'll just have to take my word for it.

All too soon, it was time to head home to get ready for Christmas day.

The kids came to my house.  Come back tomorrow to see them.  I got some pretty amazing stuff!

There is Christmas day, Noelle's birthday, so much to show you, but it's early in the morning,  I'm sleepy and going back to bed, but its nice to share...I'm awfully glad you're here...

Always Check Your Pockets

I should know better, but this time of year, we're all in a hurry...I'm no exception!

I forgot to check my pockets.  I was in a hurry so instead of taking my clothes out of the washer one piece at a time, I just pulled them out and threw them in the dryer...

So, when I opened the dryer, this is what I saw...

Guess that roll of curling ribbon really curls!

My holiday was GREAT, I'll tell you about it in the next day or two.

For now, we have other celebrations going on...must run!

Love,
Jan

It's Christmas Adam!

I know, you're wondering what in the heck is Christmas Adam.  I had to ask too.

The son of one of my dearest friends, introduced me to Christmas Adam.  The same young man who, 30+ years ago, told me his favorite kind of cheese was macaronian.

I asked, he replied...

Everyone knows Adam comes before Eve.

Happy Christmas Adam.

Love,
Jan

Knock knock...

I'll bet when you see this...

You think it's the door to my sewing room again, don't you?

Wrong!  It's the door to my hubby's bathroom.
That's not unusual, the door is usually closed, but tonight when he goes to brush his teeth..

Look who's waiting for him!

I'll bet he'll be surprised!

No wonder he loves me!

Bet You Think...

Bet you think I'm here...

Behind this door, in what Ron has been referring to as either my
Christmas Sweatshop or my Elf Hideaway......

Truth of the matter is, in five more minutes, I'll be in here

Or in something that looks like that, but with a trash bag, some Christmas decorations, empty cloth grocery bags and me inside...

A bit of grime, some road salt and a dent in the back hatch on the outside.

I'm going grocery shopping!

Catch you on the flip side...

Stay safe and warm.
Remember, God loves you and so do I!

We have a lobotomy?

I stopped in Walgreens today for a few items.  They had the cutest dog toys!

Check this out...

It has an empty water bottle tucked inside.

So when the dog crunches down on it, it makes that awful, crackly sound...

Trust me...she did...

and it did...

Wow, was she happy.  She shook it, threw it, chased after it.
You'd think she was a young pup instead of the 9 year old she is...

Suddenly...

There seemed to be penguin brains everywhere!

Yes!  Linda Lobotomized the Penguin!

As my late father-in-law would say, "There goes $7 I'll never see again!"

Okay, I have things to do, I can't sit here chatting all day!

Go out and bless someone with a smile,
God bless you,
Jan
