A Pillow, A Clapper, Alexa and a Pressure Washer...

I'm a bad sleeper!

Getting things together for a good night's sleep has taken me two years!

I need white noise but do not want to hear it before I am ready to sleep.

Alexa to the rescue!!!

I like to sleep on my side but don't want to wake up with a crooked neck.

Side-sleeper pillow to the rescue!

(It did come with the travel pillow that I will probably never use)

My last problem was that I like to sleep on my right side, facing away from my night stand.

More often than not, instead of rolling over to turn off the light after I read a bit,
I would fall asleep with the light on!

A few days ago, I remembered that my mom bought my dad a clapper 20 years ago.

I wondered if they still sold them...

Amazon, I love you!

I have been sleeping in what I consider a perfect storm...

I even slept in today!
That never happens.  Usually, for one or many reasons, I force myself to stay in bed until 5AM.

Now, if you are wondering if I took the pressure washer to bed...

NO!  these guys,

Came this morning and our house exterior is sparkling clean!

I'm a well-rested happy camper!

Two Day Tuesday.

Now, you might not care, but I am wondering where I've been and what I have been doing.
After all, it's been a while and to be honest, I'll have to go to my phone to see what I photographed.

On Sunday, Tony and Mindy called to say they were on the bike trail, could they stop in...

We had a great visit.  You know what happens when I'm enjoying something...

I forget to take photos.  Fortunately, Tony shared this one...

Henry loves bike rides!

Locklan came to spend the night...

He woke me at 3AM to tell me he wasn't sleepy.

We went into the family room to cuddle.
He went back to sleep.
I did not.

I might have been a little crabby that day.

After you sleep with the plaid blanket,
you drag it out onto the patio to make a fort...

Grandma Jan barely recovered from that day when I invited the kids back so Locklan could help me pressure wash the patio...

He spent half the time scrubbing the patio, half the time flipping it over and squirting everyone.

After they got bored, they filled a pool, dragged the slide over and had a ball!

We have a section of the yard that we try to get grass to grow...
Completely without luck.

Tony reseeded it a few years ago, even came and watered it every morning on his way to work...

Usually it's just ugly, but with the hose running, we had a mess.

I promised Ashley years ago that I would never return her kids clean.

This was one of those days.

I was sitting on the patio, just snapping photos with my phone when I managed to snag this gem...

The day ended up with two very tired kids...

Tuesday lasted two days this week...

Every Tuesday the cleaning ladies come,
so does the lawn care guys...

Yesterday the lawn care guys came and mulched...

I don't have a photo of the splendid job the guys did and I'm too lazy to stand up and take one!

They said they would be back this morning to mow.

We finally sat down with the guy from Bright Covers to discuss a new cover for our patio.

We currently have a sunsetter awning and I HATE  it.  If you want to know why, shoot me an email.

My brother-in-law has a Bright Cover and they love it.
I knew that's what I wanted.

We signed on the dotted line, that's the good part...

The bad part is that they are working 12 weeks out...

And lastly, the part of  Tuesday that got carried into Wednesday...

My lawn guy!

Top that!
If I don't talk to you before then, have a safe and festive Fourth!

A Whole Lot of Nothing

As long as I've been gone, you would think I was accomplishing something.

Not true...but things are happening...

Do you remember this?

When that ginormous branch fell on the kids' trampoline?

You can read it by clicking here..

We have had quite a few trees in our neighborhood that needed attention.
The tree guy came to cut down several trees in the neighbor's yard
and came to clean up all the dead branches from our tree.

Locklan spent the night before and was up with the chickens and ran
outside in his pajamas!

He was even more excited when they brought the bucket into our yard.

I'm happy to say that the yard is safer and yes,
we are poorer!

Anything for my little angels.

Here's What Was Next...

Aha!  You probably thought I was practicing blogging distancing...

I just got sidetracked every time I thought about blogging.

Mr.K went from a working man to a pretty retired man to a retired man who can't leave the house!

He's just there... we're adjusting and refining... we'll get it right.

I've had two crappy days,  the first one was the Tuesday after they told me the newest fridge wouldn't fit through the kitchen door.

I just got in my car and drove into town, beeped at a friend and came home.

By time  I got home, Andy had come and put my old-new fridge in it's place...

He seriously had to dismantle my kitchen,
I had to sacrifice the above-the-fridge cabinet
(that I seriously had forgotten what was in it) and we'll have to patch, paint and primp, but at least I have through the door ice!
Bad day turned good!

My next bad day was Wednesday when the enormity of Holy Week was weighing down on me.

Not virus related, it happens every year.  By Good Friday I'm usually a sobbing mess, but you should see me on Easter!
 Oh yeah!

I ended up driving to town and spotted Mindy and Henry on their front porch.  From actoss the side street, we visited.

I waved to my friend, Deb, and then headed for the car wash.  That was my outing!

Seriously, we're fine.

We have tons of food, we're healthy, have money in the bank.  We are able to keep in touch with family and friends and even face time them.

Tony, Mindy and Henry face time me daily.  I even got to watch him (Henry) take a bath the other day.

Andy, Ashley and kids are always calling or sending photos or face timing, Ashley will drive up and park in the drive so we can talk (I stay on the porch).

I don't have to wear a bra.

I talk to my mom every day, sometimes for an hour!

I have lots to do, quilt, sew, knit and read.

Ron has his TV shows and we subscribed to BritBox so we have been watching those old Brit-coms.

But to be honest, I miss those grands...their hugs and kisses.

I miss Aimee, who should have been cutting my hair last week.

Oh dear, I miss Kimmy who worls her magic on my nails (incidentally, I am down to three acrylic nails).

I miss wearing contacts and shoes...

But we are staying home to protect you and me.

Just think, when we finally can go out, how sweet it will be!

Stay home, stay healthy.  Be safe!
