#GrandmaLife

Last  week, Andy asked me if I could watch the kids on Monday.

Of course, I said, "Heck Yeah!"

Since it's been so stinkin' hot here, all visits involve water activities of some kind.
this day was no exception!

Pappy just bought a new hose and connected it for us...

Oh my goodness...Teagan got ahold of it...

She is such a stinker!

They got stinky, sweaty and dirty, so when they decided to fill the pool...

As Locklan said...they took a bath with their clothes on!

As hot as it's been, I wished I could enjoy the water as much as they did!

I still get to facetime Henry every evening.  He's so funny!

I'm so thankful that our quarantine has expanded to include immediate family.

How about you?

Still staying safe?

In My Life...

Every year I say I'm not going to think about it...

Talk about it...

Write about it.

Then this morning, Michelle, my sister-in-law, posted this oldie but goodie
of Mark, Tori and of course, Tony.

Of course, it brought back so many memories...

Like this day...

I know I'm not alone in missing him...

We'll get together again some day...

RIP Mark and Arnie on your 62nd birthday!

I Did Not Melt in the Heat!

So much happening, all so quickly.

I bought a swimming pool last year at the end of the season...
We finally got to set it up!

Of course, the kids spent lots of time here.

We managed a visit to Mom's house where all the little kids played...

Teagan and Henry really enjoy each other's company!

My brother even came! He's so much like my dad, this is the only photo I got of him, (look carefully, he's in the white shirt).

playing with the kids. It was the first time Teagan and Henry met him. Locklan didn't remember him at all.

Mom pulled out all the toys, but they were more interested in the lawn mower and wheel barrow.

Those kids were so worn out, I plopped Locklan and Teagan in the tub and they were asleep before we got
out of town!

I celebrated another trip around the sun... Yep, 69 and fine!

Tony and Mindy invited us to dinner. Mindy (whose cooking I crave) let me choose dinner. I chose her Mongolian Beef and it was delicious!

Henry showed me his tent... he has the neatest toy room!

Of course we spent lots of time at the river.

Of course we did, it's been in the 90's!

Henry loves the kayaks.
.
Tony puts him in and they paddle across the river.  The river has been so low that there is a tiny 'beach' on the other side where they go to wade and throw stones

I went with Ashley and the kids to a state park near our house.
It was pretty stinkin' hot and the water felt good.

Lastly, we lost my Aunt Helen, my mom's oldest sister, to Covoid 19 on Sunday.  She was 93.

I can't believe she's gone.

We got to visit with her in February, when it was still safe...

That's my mom, Aunt Helen, My cousin, Mark, Locklan, me, Teagan and Anne, Mark's wife.

Anne lost her mother to Covid-19 this spring.

Stay safe.  Wear a mask.  Practice social distancing.

Grandma Life

I was sorting through some old photos and found two that touched my heart...

So much love between these three kids...

This one was taken the first time I baby sat all three at once...

I love being a grandma!

I just realized it's Tuesday.  I have a full day planned...

That Was Fast!

I'm not sure, correct me if I'm wrong...

Did we just survive a 3 day holiday weekend?

I totally lost it!

We had it all settled.  We were headed for camp on Saturday, early.

I woke up in the middle of the night with some kind of intestinal malady.

I wasn't up to it and

We couldn't coordinate times, so we all stayed home.

I slept most of the day on Saturday,

I started to feel normal on Sunday.

Today I was up at 5AM ready to tackle my to-do list,

But first, I need to brag...

Mr. K went out on the patio and brought me my first harvest...

Nothing like a sun warmed tomato!

I'm going to get busy...let's talk later!

Two Day Tuesday.

Now, you might not care, but I am wondering where I've been and what I have been doing.
After all, it's been a while and to be honest, I'll have to go to my phone to see what I photographed.

On Sunday, Tony and Mindy called to say they were on the bike trail, could they stop in...

We had a great visit.  You know what happens when I'm enjoying something...

I forget to take photos.  Fortunately, Tony shared this one...

Henry loves bike rides!

Locklan came to spend the night...

He woke me at 3AM to tell me he wasn't sleepy.

We went into the family room to cuddle.
He went back to sleep.
I did not.

I might have been a little crabby that day.

After you sleep with the plaid blanket,
you drag it out onto the patio to make a fort...

Grandma Jan barely recovered from that day when I invited the kids back so Locklan could help me pressure wash the patio...

He spent half the time scrubbing the patio, half the time flipping it over and squirting everyone.

After they got bored, they filled a pool, dragged the slide over and had a ball!

We have a section of the yard that we try to get grass to grow...
Completely without luck.

Tony reseeded it a few years ago, even came and watered it every morning on his way to work...

Usually it's just ugly, but with the hose running, we had a mess.

I promised Ashley years ago that I would never return her kids clean.

This was one of those days.

I was sitting on the patio, just snapping photos with my phone when I managed to snag this gem...

The day ended up with two very tired kids...

Tuesday lasted two days this week...

Every Tuesday the cleaning ladies come,
so does the lawn care guys...

Yesterday the lawn care guys came and mulched...

I don't have a photo of the splendid job the guys did and I'm too lazy to stand up and take one!

They said they would be back this morning to mow.

We finally sat down with the guy from Bright Covers to discuss a new cover for our patio.

We currently have a sunsetter awning and I HATE  it.  If you want to know why, shoot me an email.

My brother-in-law has a Bright Cover and they love it.
I knew that's what I wanted.

We signed on the dotted line, that's the good part...

The bad part is that they are working 12 weeks out...

And lastly, the part of  Tuesday that got carried into Wednesday...

My lawn guy!

Top that!
If I don't talk to you before then, have a safe and festive Fourth!
