The Perfect Gift

I am always searching for the perfect gift for my hubby...

The man who has everything.

In five years, I have gone high tech, low tech, personal and impersonal...

I rarely wow him...

He either has it, doesn't want it or won't use it.

Other than his work and television, he really has no interests.

He has a few 'assigned chores' to keep up...

Like breaking down the (Amazon) boxes for recycling and taking out the trash.

He does have one self appointed chore...

monitoring the toilet paper supply!

There are times I feel bad when I see him struggling up the stairs...

juggling five or six rolls of toilet paper!

He always makes sure the guest bathroom has multiple spares...

His bathroom too.

(I take care of my own bathroom)

The other day, I was in a restroom and they had this on the wall...

The perfect gift!
Now I'm not sure where to get one, or two...

I hope he isn't reading this...

Another year older...

Yes!  I had another birthday!

I am now officially 66!

It was a good one, to be sure!

I slept in!

In my life, anything past 6:15 AM is sleeping in,

So by 8:30, my bladder was screaming for someone to call 911...

Seriously, I slept until 8:30!

Is that an indication of old age?

I came downstairs and Mr K had my coffee ready...

He gave me a happy birthday kiss and a card...

And THREE presents!!!!

Of course, he's a guy and everyone knows guys don't give gifts that look this nice when they wrap them...

To be honest, his wrapping paper usually looks like this...

So the fact that he wrapped at all was exciting!

He told me to open them in a particular order...

Now, before I tell you the rest, let me say this...

I am EXTREMELY hard to buy for!

When the kids asked me what I would like,
I responded with a request for a family day at camp!

When Ron asked me,
I said I wanted a REAL trash bag for my car.

REAL, as in not looking like this:

(yes, like his version of wrapping paper)

My first gift was a REAL trash bag for my car!

No photo available, it's in use!

My second gift was this...

Yes!  Mr.K and I will finally figure out where I come from!

And last but not least...

TWO of these babies...

BOB SEGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so excited...

I cried!

Oh yes!

Of course,

we all went to the river
where we ate and ate and ate...

And floated on inflatable things...

NOT this...

or this...

Which would have been uber cool...

But suitably inflated things...

Ahhhhhhh

It wasn't a good day, it was a GREAT DAY!

So what's new with YOU?

It's a wrap!

I was downstairs wrapping presents...Yes!  Wrapping presents!!!

For those who have known been related to me for any length of time, know how much I hate to wrap presents.  I hated it so much I would put it off until the last possible minute, "No, you can't come downstairs yet, Santa left all this work for me!"

Putting it off until after the stores closed on Christmas eve had it's pitfalls:  running out of tape (in the past I have been known to use masking tape, band aids, staples, electrical tape and string).

I have run out of name tag:  easily replaced with home made paper tags, writing on the wrapping paper with a sharpie, freezer labels, or my favorite, trusting my memory as to which package belonged to whom.  The latter resulted in MANY post opening exchanges.

Running out of wrapping paper was another pitfall
(which is why I have an extensive collection now),

easily replaced by newspaper, paper bags, and of course,
recycled paper...saved from gift 1, ironed and used to wrap gift 2.

I found two things indispensable...those pre cut tape dispensers and a ping pong table.

Of course, there are a few gifts not yet wrapped,
a few not yet delivered,
and a few on the table in my sewing room...but for the most part...

It's a wrap!

Now I gotta dash, got big plans for the day...

Go out and be a blessing to someone, I know I'm going to try!

God bless you,
Love,
Jan
